Magnus with two donkeys on Lamu Island

A man without a donkey is a donkey. Swahili proverb.

Welcome to the homepage of Magnus Kjaergaard. This is going to be a vanity page about myself, my research and my hobbies. Additionally it is a means to show off my pictures to friends, family and random strangers. Enjoy

I am currently a Ph.D.-student in the lab of Prof. Flemming M. Poulsen at the Department of Biology at the University of Copenhagen. Previously I did my Master's studies as a collaboration between the labs of Flemming Poulsen and Michael Ploug of the Finsen Laboratory. My masters thesis focussed on the structure of the Somatomedin B domain of vitronectin and its interaction with the urokinase receptor. This work resulted among others in a paper published in the journal Protein Science accompanied by a cover illustration painted by my artistic mother.

In my spare time I SCUBA dive with my dive club Aquarius. Recently, I started freediving in the university student sports club USG. I also enjoy enjoy photography, both under and above water.

I recently realized that my mother's home page was nicer than mine, which prompted my to redesign the page.
